About Mai Carpentry
I have been in the carpentry and construction field for over 20 years and am skilled in a wide range of customized furniture, home remodeling, demolition, restoration of historic residences, and deck and outdoor space design.
From the time I was young, I've loved creating something out of nothing. I was passionate about art and once I was old enough to start building things with my dad, I really enjoyed the construction and carpentry design. Envisioning what something can be and transforming spaces always came easy to me.
I appreciate repurposing old wood and seeing that wood live on in a new design and in a new home. It's important to me to offer people high quality, beautiful, detailed work that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
I have a degree in business and worked for 10 years in the insurance industry, while always continuing to do woodwork on the side. But I knew my calling was in design, so I left office life in 2012 to pursue carpentry full time.
I am also passionate about art and illustration. In addition to business, I studied graphic design and art in college. I use color hatching and cross hatching to create a unique style of drawing.

The highlight of the space is a custom made walnut live edge kitchen countertop.
